So, finally I have got around to building a new blog. Hopefully this
one will be a bit of an improvement over my previous attempts (my old
blog is now retired). I decided I needed to start again when I looked
at my blog one day and realised it had gradually degenerated into
little more than a picture gallery.

A manifesto for a blog that isn't awful

To prevent the inevitable entropy that comes with any creative
endeavour that I am involved in here is a manifesto of how I will use
this blog...

I will blog:

1. To contribute: I really think it's important that everybody with something worth saying should be contribute to the web in some way. I want to add value to what is already out there are be involved in the discussions that people are having.
2. To share ideas: I love new ideas and I want to share the ones I think are important.
3. As a creative outlet: I have always felt that personal creativity is important and I want to share what I have made.

I won't blog:

1. My stream of consciousness
2. The minutia of my everyday life
3. Random images and links with no explanation

The Technology

This new blog is powered by a CMS called Drupal,
although I am a big fan of Wordpress, I use Drupal for work and think
that it is much more extensible and easier to create new themes for.
