I have had the day off today and it has given me the chance to take things a bit more slowly. The fairly rigid week day routine means that I don't always stop to notice small things. So I made a concerted effort to spend some time looking around the garden.

Down at the bottom of the garden I found bumblebees feeding off the lupins. There were around six of them of different varieties, some with long mouths for sucking out the nectar. I grabbed my camera and took a few shots, it was quite difficult. I would hold the camera close to the bees for a close up then jerk my hand back every time it looked like they were about to move. Luckily they were much too happy where they were to attack me en masse.
