Last Saturday I took an all day workshop on life drawing at the Richard Attenborough Centre and it was pretty hard, I gave up art at school at GCSE and as a result I know incredibly little about 'serious drawing'.
It was good though, I feel like I picked up more about how I could improve as an illustrator in that session than three years of GCSE art. I wasn't terribly happy with my output but it made be aware of the gap between the 'drawing in my head' and what I could produce when I put charcoal to paper and that didn't make me want to give up - it made me want to practice.
This Inadequate drawing of Bob Dylan is part of my attempts to get back into 'serious drawing' hopefully I look back it in a few months and think to myself "I can do miles better than that now".
